Responsibilities:
The escrow officer is responsible to oversee the daily activities of their unit. This would include taking the incoming escrow from beginning to its conclusion and everything in between. Plan staff meetings each week to keep the staff informed of new policies and procedures. Meet w/regional manager and sales associates or manager to plan functions for new business and recurring business.
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required. Certified Escrow Officer preferred. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. All communication (written or verbal) must be handled with proper grammar. Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of related Company business. Communicate effectively, maintain cooperation, and display professional attitude with coworkers and management. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to other employees of the department. Work Experience Escrow Officer background. Must have 4 years experience in an escrow officer position. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high volume, deadline-oriented environment.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
